In this work I seek a balance between two opposites: between strong and weak, hard and soft, between masculine and feminine, between materials and traditional roles. I am interested in how clay and water can or cannot work together. I base my interest in the collaboration of opposites on the recognition of the Roman philosopher Boethius that harmony is the substance that unites all opposites, because harmony unites both the common and the different, it unites opposites. In classical literature, harmony is described as `concordia discors` - "harmonious agreement" (De Establishe arithmetica Boethius, c. 500)
